Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

I think I want a rune.... but which one?  As long as Will put it on me.... I guess I wouldn't care.

I just finished Clockwork Angel.  It was so good but all her books are so I wouldn't expect anything but.
It is book one of three in The Infernal Devices trilogy which is a prequel to The Mortal Instruments Trilogy turned 6-ilogy {what would that word be??}  The next book in the Infernal Devices series (Clockwork Prince) is due out September of 2011 so a full year before I hear anymore about Will and Tessa and Jem.  Then we will have to wait for another year when the 3rd book (Clockwork Princess) is due out November 2011.  These authors are deadly with their teasing.  Anyway....
Will and Tessa and Jem {♂} are the main characters.  Some characters from TMI series are found in this prequel.  Cassandra Clare is an excellent writer and makes you want to stay up all night discovering what is on the next page.  I am "team" Will if I have to choose.  There always seems to be a "team" someone.  I'm trying to think of the two character name I would give Will and Tessa.... WillEssa is better than TessIll I suppose but whatev', I just want WillIvy.... now that is a name I could handle (if I liked 17 year old boys....hmmmm)

Anyway, let me know if you have read this and your thoughts!  I so quickly forget the details of stories and all that remains are the feelings so talking about it and reading other bookworm's thoughts helps it to stay fresh in my mind!!

Mockingjay

Hey All! Ashton here. Obviously, we are epic fail about posting here, even though I know we are all busy reading and lusting after banging hot book boys... I'd promise we'll do better, but I don't want to let anyone down.

So I'm just checking in to see who here is excited about Mockingjay -- I know that I am most definitely excited. I spent the weekend rereading Hunger Games & Catching Fire. I realized as I was reading I am still as in love with this series and when I first picked them up a little over a year ago.

My favorite moment of the series this far *spoiler alert* has to be Katniss during the interview before the Quarter Quell. I can see the dress catching fire and transforming her to the mockingjay. & basically because besides Katniss, Cinna is my favorite character.

What is your favorite Hunger Games trilogy moment? Are you team Peeta? Team Gale?

I know I won't be doing much once my book arrives in the mail this week!

Going Too Far -- Jennifer Echols

You will want to read it twice. John's bangin' hot meter is set on heart racing! His police officer uniform restrains him from being a bad boy but his white, hard, sweaty chest sends temptation Meg's way and she can hardly resist.

It's a must read in the Bangin' Hot Book Boys World! Read the following book jacket teaser:

When love crosses the line…where do you stop?

From popular author Jennifer Echols comes a touching and romantic story about a troubled teenager and a rookie cop who just might be able to save each other—if they can save themselves first...

HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO?

All Meg has ever wanted is to get away. Away from high school. Away from her backwater town. Away from her parents who seem determined to keep her imprisoned in their dead-end lives. But one crazy evening involving a dare and forbidden railroad tracks, she goes way too far… and almost doesn’t make it back.

John made a choice to stay. To enforce the rules. To serve and protect. He has nothing but contempt for what he sees as childish rebellion, and he wants to teach Meg a lesson she won’t soon forget. But Meg pushes him to the limit by questioning everything he learned at the police academy. And when he pushes back, demanding to know why she won’t be tied down, they will drive each other to the edge—and over…

Taking readers on an unforgettable journey through the lingering effects of loss and the redemptive power of love, Going Too Far will appeal to fans of powerful and poignant teen novels by Deb Caletti and Sarah Dessen.

This was a quick read! A 2 nighter for this busy mom of 4!

Definitely a pick-me-up if you need a little love life boost. It just feels sooo goooooood. And it lingers!

Sam, we await you, July 20th 2010 is too far away, I need to see only your yellow eyes

In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabel, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole. At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love -- the light and the dark, the warm and the cold -- in a way you will never forget.

Jace honey, you need a book cover! Below is an Italian cover made for City of Bones--dripping hotness....everywhere.... due out March 31st, 2011
(so far away!!)

City of Fallen Angels takes place after the events of City of Glass. It splits its focus between Jace and Clary and Clary’s best friend, Simon, and how he adjusts to life as a vampire, but it’s still an ensemble-cast story, and all the characters from the Mortal Instruments series appear in it: Jace, Isabelle, Alec, Magnus, Luke, Jocelyn, Maia, and many more. (It even helps to have read The Clockwork Angel before you read CoFA, because some of the characters from the ID series do show up in it. However, it isn’t required.) In City of Fallen Angels, someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and leaving their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters. Internecine warfare among vampires is ripping the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Meanwhile Jace and Clary investigate a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

Peeta Mellark will be seeing us this Autumn, look for him August 24th!

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what’s worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss’s family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins’s groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.

Shiver- Sam Roth

Um, hi all you bangin' hot book boy fans!  Life has been crazy lately, but I finally got to sit down and read an awesome book with a hot boy we must talk about!

No spoilers, so read away :)

Today I am going to discuss Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.  Oh my, if you have not read this book, I totally recommend it.  I can't wait for the next book in the series, Linger,  to come out this year.  I have heard a lot of negativity about this book, people complaining it's too much like Twilight and unoriginal, um no.  None of those thoughts crossed my mind whilst reading.  Anyway, I thought it was a great story that made me ache for the two main characters.  I really liked that the story was told through both Sam and Grace's point of view, it changed things up a bit.

I'm going to talk about Sam.  Sam is bangin' hot.  Oh yes, he definitely is.

So, Sam is a little on the sensitive side.  Not so much the type to cry during a chick flick, but the type that reads poetry and plays his guitar and loves loves loves Grace with all of his being.  And to me that is hot, really hot.  He isn't the super macho tough guy, but his occasional jealous moments and the intimate way he looks at Grace is way better.  You see, Sam really is broken, he went through some horrifying things as a child, and even though Grace had family and friends, she was all alone.  They needed each other and I think they truly loved each other.

The first time Sam sees Grace not as a wolf makes me melt, because you can almost feel his anxiety and his want for her to approach him.....

"My chest ached, my body speaking a language my head didn't quite understand.  I waited. But Grace, the only person in the world I wanted to know me, just ran a wanting finger over the cover of one of the new hardcovers and walked out of the store without ever realising I was there, right within reach."

Basically Sam made me melt throughout the entire book....

So what do you think about Sam?  Does he warrant bangin' hot status?

Dear John ~John Tyree~ *Big Time Spoilers*

"Our story has three parts: a beginning, a middle, and an end. And although this is the way all stories unfold, I still can't believe that ours didn't go on forever."

I’m big on books that get turned into movies. Just so I can be the person who says “the book is so much better”. So naturally when I saw the preview for Dear John I had to run out and get the book. Let me just say that I didn’t love the book, but oh my dear, dear John. I have to admit, I am a suckah for bad boys…and John fits the bill. He is raised by his reclusive father. He starts to rebel and is on a path he knows is not good for him so he enlists in the army. See how responsible he is? His life was going nowhere fast so he did something about it.

On one of his furloughs he is enjoying the day at the beach when a girl catches his eye. Later he sees her bag fall off the pier into the water below. Like a true gentleman he jumps into the water and rescues her bag. *Swoon* Bags are a big deal to me.  So him and said girl, Savannah, begin a summer romance. They are only together for a few days, but it is long enough for them to fall in love. Hard.

I won’t go into a whole Cliff notes version of the book. (Wait…who remembers Cliff notes? Anyone? I is old) Basically…He writes her, she writes him. Their love grows.

So here is why he is so dayum bangin’ hot:

~He loves her. Like really truly loves her. She is young and innocent and he doesn’t try to take advantage of that.

~He stays true to her, even while he is away and his friends are living it up.

~He is super badass…there is a point where Randy kinda trips and John kinda over reacts and handles the guy. I like a man that can protect his lady. That sounds so cliché but you get the gist right?

~He is loyal to his country and fellow soldiers. Even though it kills him to be away from Savannah, he does what he feels is right.

~He is selfless. In the end…he could have her back if wasn’t such a good man. Tim gave him the green light. But he again does what is right and selflessly gives all he has to make the woman he loves happy. *BIG TIME SWOON*

~He loves his Dad and does his best to mend their broken relationship. When he sells the coin collection he keeps the one coin that reminds him the most of his father.

~Through it all he loves her and still stares at the full moon.

~He doesn’t blame her. He should be mad and angry…I was mad at her just reading it. But he loves her regardless.

The movie comes out in February and I can’t wait to see it. I think they did a great job of casting for John. Seriously Channing Tatum is smokin’ hot! Those broad shoulders, defined abs, strong jaw line… Just sayin’.

Here are a few quotes from John to make you swoon:

"And when her lips met mine, I knew that I could live to be a hundred and visit every country in the world, but nothing would ever compare to that single moment when I first kissed the girl of my dreams and knew that my love would last forever."

“I've been burdened by questions I've asked myself a thousand times since the last time we were together. Why did I do it? And would I do it again?

It was I, you see, who ended it."

"I finally understood what true love meant...love meant that you care for another person's happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be."

Have you read the book?  Did you think John was bangin' hot? Do you still catch yourself thinking of him? no?...oh...um...me either. :D
