Harry Potter - Fred&George

so....hi. i'm a little nervous! i was at work today, battling a headache, and thinking about which bangin' hot boy i should write about first.

i went through several in my mind [i plan to do lots of reading over christmas break] and then it hit me: i could write about not only one boy, but two! all within the same post.

if you haven't read Harry Potter, please do yourself a favor, and haul yourself to a bookstore or library and do so. once you've made it through all seven books, feel free to return and join the party!

spoilers ahead!

now, there are a lot of swoon worthy boys in harry potter. i swoon over more than just these 2. but for this post, fred and george are where it's at.

let's look at why i find these two worthy of bangin' book boy status:
  • they make me laugh
  • they're intelligent
  • they're all for the their family
  • they test limits
  • financially stable [at least in book 6]
  • they break rules
laughter is the best medicine: i used to work at a grocery store. a nice, older man worked in the produce section, and we chatted most days when i moved to floral. he told me "marry a man who makes you laugh. if you can't laugh, you won't be happy." that might be some of the best advice i've ever been given. Fred&George [also, they're pretty much the same entity in my mind-their personalities are so much alike] make me smile and laugh out loud every time they're on the page. most of the time, just thinking about them makes me laugh!

smarts: if you don't think the twins are intelligent, you're missing something [in my humble opinion, of course]. i mean, hi! they started a booming business in the darkest of times for the wizarding world. just because they got sick of dolores and left hogwarts does not mean they lack intelligence! could you invent a skiving snackbox? i know i couldn't!

the family: just like every family, the weasley family has their own share of issues: there was the whole thing with percy, and that time arthur almost died in the ministry - the list could go on. the point is, the twins are more than willing to fight for their family. they're there for molly when percy is a brat. and just like the rest of their family, they accept harry without question. family ties ALL the weasleys together-i think it's the hair, personally. the battle for hogwarts in the deathly hallows? briliant. if you've read it, you know what i'm talking about!

pushing limits: the twins never stop trying to see how much they can get away with. they challenge umbridge, filch; even hermione! come on...when her and ron are prefects? and she tells them off for testing products on first years? if i was them, i would have been scared of hermione. but no. they do what [they feel] is necessary for them. and how much guts does it require to pull off that radio broadcast in book 7?! not to mention finding every passage out of hogwarts - that's pure talent. life would never be boring with one of them, that's for sure!

finances: unfortunately, money makes the world go 'round, and the wizarding world is no exception. i'm not saying money is the most important thing - far from it! but we all know we like to be stable. their family never had much, but the twins made do with what they had [and were happy!], until they found the resources to start Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes (and buy ron new dress robes!) and become extremely successful. it takes talent to start a lucrative business during the times of voldemort's return!

what rules?:  now, i don't know about you, but i think boys [in books!] that break rules are pretty much the stuff. who gave harry the marauder's map? who had the biggest file in filch's cabinet? who pissed off umbridge to no end? who lost an ear? who died?! [that was a major spoiler. highlight at your own risk!] and yeah, that last part that was highlighted? it pretty much slayed me. i was a sad cookie when i read that.

plus, these guys are beaters to be jealous of, aren't scared to make bets with ministry officials, and tried to get past dumbledore's age line to enter the triwizard tournament.

i just can't really put into words how much i love the weasley twins; not to mention if you could actually end up with one, you would have the best.extended.family.ever.

am i way off base?
or right on track?

do you think the twins are worthy of bangin' hot status?
let's discuss!

As much as I hate to admit it, you make me KINDA wanna read the Harry Potter books. But ONLY because of the Weasleys. The end. I'll let you know if I do.

You are SO on track! I heart the twins something fierce! I also quote them on a regular basis!

I was a sad cookie also when the highlighted mystery word thing happened! Tears for days...

Laughter is the best! Plus, who wouldn't want to marry into the weasley family?! I totally want to!

I'm so glad you posted about these boys! I heart them, oh so much. And you're right about the advice you were given - Laugh together and you will make it through anything. :)

Um HI....of course! I only got to book 5 before they started puting me to sleep and I had to walk away. However, Because of fred&George I am planning to pick the books up at the library and catch up over Christmas Break. They were always my favorite the first time I read the books anyway.

I honestly never gave the twins much attention. I thought they were hella funny, but have never thought of them as bangin' hot book boys.

I'm going to reread the HP series over winter break and I'll def be giving them more attention this read through because your reasoning is so true and makes them kind of the perfect men.

Yay first BHBB post =D

ps highlighted was the saddest part =(

all of the reasons you gave were great reasons but i never really gave them the time of day... sorry twins. but being funny, smart, and pushing the limits would def attract me, so i'll say sure.. they can be bangin hot book boys!

I actually aspire to marry into a family like the Weasley's.

The twins are the best, and the guys that play them in the movies are absolutely perfect!!

They are absolutely BHBB!

Book Twins better than Movie Twins. As far as the hotness I imagined. =] Nice choice. I'm Sarah and I approve this message.

I totally agree with you. I looved the twins while I was reading the books a few months ago. (I know, I was a little behind the times).

Highlighted part? I'm still sad.

I love Fred and George so very much. I first fell in love with them when Harry first met them at the station and they say "Goodness woman don't you know your own sons?" or something like that.

I love the Weasley family too. I want to be a weasley. I dont care if their poor. They have fun and they love each other. They're all very brave.

And when one of them died I balled my eyes out! True story I could not get over that he was dead. It was horrible.

So true. I would greatly appreciate a man like Fred/George. They are a lot of fun, pushing the limits with rules, but always stepping up to plate when they are needed by their friends and family or to fight for what is right.

I'm so excited to see how this blog is taking off. It's making me appreciate those hot boys in books all the more. :)

I think I've been jaded. I didn't read the entire series. Here is how it went down. Saw the movies 1-4, listened to book 5, read 6 & 7. I didn't fall for any of the boys in these books. I feel so unlucky in love with the HP books.
Now that I have read this post...I think I could have been madly in love with the twins.
1) my husband is insanely funny and always has me laughing...srsly, he is hilarious.
2) my hubby is way smart and loves me like no other.
3) he loves his family... we don't do family stuff like the twins but we are there when they need us and that is what counts.

So... thanks for the post that opened my eyes to the HP books. So many bangin' hot book boys to meet, so little time!

Cheers~Ivy

Yes, aside from Wood, the twins were probably my favorite BHBs of the HP series.
