Ashton here. Obviously, we are epic fail about posting here, even though I know we are all busy reading and lusting after banging hot book boys... I'd promise we'll do better, but I don't want to let anyone down.

So I'm just checking in to see who here is excited about Mockingjay -- I know that I am most definitely excited. I spent the weekend rereading Hunger Games & Catching Fire. I realized as I was reading I am still as in love with this series and when I first picked them up a little over a year ago.

My favorite moment of the series this far *spoiler alert* has to be Katniss during the interview before the Quarter Quell. I can see the dress catching fire and transforming her to the mockingjay. & basically because besides Katniss, Cinna is my favorite character.

What is your favorite Hunger Games trilogy moment? Are you team Peeta? Team Gale?

I know I won't be doing much once my book arrives in the mail this week!

x, ash

Going Too Far -- Jennifer Echols

You will want to read it twice. John's bangin' hot meter is set on heart racing! His police officer uniform restrains him from being a bad boy but his white, hard, sweaty chest sends temptation Meg's way and she can hardly resist.

It's a must read in the Bangin' Hot Book Boys World! Read the following book jacket teaser:

When love crosses the line…where do you stop?

From popular author Jennifer Echols comes a touching and romantic story about a troubled teenager and a rookie cop who just might be able to save each other—if they can save themselves first...

HOW FAR WOULD YOU GO?

All Meg has ever wanted is to get away. Away from high school. Away from her backwater town. Away from her parents who seem determined to keep her imprisoned in their dead-end lives. But one crazy evening involving a dare and forbidden railroad tracks, she goes way too far… and almost doesn’t make it back.

John made a choice to stay. To enforce the rules. To serve and protect. He has nothing but contempt for what he sees as childish rebellion, and he wants to teach Meg a lesson she won’t soon forget. But Meg pushes him to the limit by questioning everything he learned at the police academy. And when he pushes back, demanding to know why she won’t be tied down, they will drive each other to the edge—and over…

Taking readers on an unforgettable journey through the lingering effects of loss and the redemptive power of love, Going Too Far will appeal to fans of powerful and poignant teen novels by Deb Caletti and Sarah Dessen.

This was a quick read! A 2 nighter for this busy mom of 4!

Definitely a pick-me-up if you need a little love life boost. It just feels sooo goooooood. And it lingers!

Cheers~Ivy

Bangin' Hot waiting....and waiting....

We've all read the beginnings....and now we are waiting, waiting for our bangin' hot book boys to light a fire in our loins! For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabel, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole. At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love -- the light and the dark, the warm and the cold -- in a way you will never forget.

description taken from here

❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀

Jace honey, you need a book cover! It splits its focus between Jace and Clary and Clary’s best friend, Simon, and how he adjusts to life as a vampire, but it’s still an ensemble-cast story, and all the characters from the Mortal Instruments series appear in it: Jace, Isabelle, Alec, Magnus, Luke, Jocelyn, Maia, and many more. (It even helps to have read The Clockwork Angel before you read CoFA, because some of the characters from the ID series do show up in it. However, it isn’t required.) In City of Fallen Angels, someone’s killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s Circle and leaving their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters. Internecine warfare among vampires is ripping the Downworld community apart, and only Simon — the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side — can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Meanwhile Jace and Clary investigate a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them — consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

description taken from here

❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀❀

Peeta Mellark will be seeing us this Autumn, look for him August 24th!

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">

I'm going to talk about Sam. Sam is bangin' hot. Oh yes, he definitely is.

So, Sam is a little on the sensitive side. Not so much the type to cry during a chick flick, but the type that reads poetry and plays his guitar and loves loves loves Grace with all of his being. And to me that is hot, really hot. He isn't the super macho tough guy, but his occasional jealous moments and the intimate way he looks at Grace is way better. You see, Sam really is broken, he went through some horrifying things as a child, and even though Grace had family and friends, she was all alone. They needed each other and I think they truly loved each other.

The first time Sam sees Grace not as a wolf makes me melt, because you can almost feel his anxiety and his want for her to approach him.....

<div style="margin-bottom: 0px; Just so I can be the person who says “the book is so much better”. So naturally when I saw the preview for Dear John I had to run out and get the book. Let me just say that I didn’t love the book, but oh my dear, dear John. I have to admit, I am a suckah for bad boys…and John fits the bill. He is raised by his reclusive father. He starts to rebel and is on a path he knows is not good for him so he enlists in the army. See how responsible he is? His life was going nowhere fast so he did something about it.

On one of his furloughs he is enjoying the day at the beach when a girl catches his eye. Later he sees her bag fall off the pier into the water below. Like a true gentleman he jumps into the water and rescues her bag. *Swoon* Bags are a big deal to me. So him and said girl, Savannah, begin a summer romance. They are only together for a few days, but it is long enough for them to fall in love. Hard.

I won’t go into a whole Cliff notes version of the book. (Wait…who remembers Cliff notes? Anyone? I is old) Basically…He writes her, she writes him. Their love grows.

So here is why he is so dayum bangin’ hot:

~He loves her. Like really truly loves her. She is young and innocent and he doesn’t try to take advantage of that.

~He stays true to her, even while he is away and his friends are living it up.

~He is super badass…there is a point where Randy kinda trips and John kinda over reacts and handles the guy. I like a man that can protect his lady. That sounds so cliché but you get the gist right?

~He is loyal to his country and fellow soldiers. Even though it kills him to be away from Savannah, he does what he feels is right.

~He is selfless. In the end…he could have her back if wasn’t such a good man. Tim gave him the green light. But he again does what is right and selflessly gives all he has to make the woman he loves happy. *BIG TIME SWOON*

~He loves his Dad and does his best to mend their broken relationship. When he sells the coin collection he keeps the one coin that reminds him the most of his father.

~Through it all he loves her and still stares at the full moon.

~He doesn’t blame her. He should be mad and angry…I was mad at her just reading it. But he loves her regardless.

The movie comes out in February and I can’t wait to see it. I think they did a great job of casting for John. Seriously Channing Tatum is smokin’ hot! Those broad shoulders, defined abs, strong jaw line… Just sayin’.

Here are a few quotes from John to make you swoon:

"And when her lips met mine, I knew that I could live to be a hundred and visit every country in the world, but nothing would ever compare to that single moment when I first kissed the girl of my dreams and knew that my love would last forever."

“I've been burdened by questions I've asked myself a thousand times since the last time we were together. Why did I do it? And would I do it again?

It was I, you see, who ended it."

"I finally understood what true love meant...love meant that you care for another person's happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be."

Have you read the book? Did you think John was bangin' hot? Do you still catch yourself thinking of him? no?...oh...um...me either. :D

~Alice~

Gemma Doyle Series--Kartik

Hello Bangin’ Hot Bloggers & Friends,

I’m Katie and I’ve finally gotten my act together to post here. From the minute this group was started I’ve wanted to post about Kartik, not because he’s my all time favorite BHBB (I love acronyms, don’t you?) but because I think he’s underrepresented. However, my books were at home while I was at college and I wanted to brush up before I took on his case. I am home now and the time has come!

Kartik is from A Great and Terrible Beauty and its sequels Rebel Angels and The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray. I read the first book when I was fourteen or so and I really enjoyed it; I especially enjoyed Kartik and my love for him grew with each book.

Hence forth there shall be minor spoilers, but nothing too revealing.

The wonderful thing about the GATB trilogy is that the focus is the four main girls and a lot of the themes center on women’s empowerment. Still, what fun would a good young adult book be without a bangin’ hot boy to mix things up? We meet Kartik early on; he’s a {hot} Indian boy who is mysteriously following our lead character Gemma Doyle.

Without giving a boring Sparknotes version of the entire trilogy, I’ll just dive into what makes Kartik a Bangin’ Hot candidate to me.

I think the main draw of Kartik for me is the conflict in his plotline with Gemma. Kartik is first introduced as a character who is working for a secret organization, the Rakshana, bent on stopping Gemma from entering the realms and he is also supposed to kill her; he fails this in part because Gemma is powerful and in part because he has feelings for her. In the following books he has to remain close to Gemma due to his continued ties to the Rakshana but he is falling in love with her and has to find ways to protect her against his own people. On top of this, Gemma is seeing someone else which brings on jealousy. For me, his hotness increases as I watch him selflessly protect Gemma all while having to watch miserably as she flirts with other boys, never knowing all he is doing for her.

The theme of Sacrifice: Kartik and Gemma are star-crossed lovers because he has to lie to protect her and himself and she tends to believe him (uh-oh sound familiar? *coughNewMooncough*). When he comes to comfort her at Pippa’s funeral she thinks it’s because he’s in love with Pippa. When he is missing at the beginning of “The Sweet Far Thing” she feels abandoned without knowing that he is really sacrificing to protect her. And then, of course, he makes the ultimate sacrifice at the end of “The Sweet Far Thing”.

Then, of course, there’s the physical: Tall, dark and handsome. Here is a passage from the book when Gemma first sees him:
“For a moment, the young man and I lock eyes. He isn’t much older than I am, probably seventeen if a day, with brown skin, a full mouth, and the longest eyelashes I have ever seen.” (AGATB, 7)
And then a few pages later:
“He reaches me as I fall to the ground… [I] focus on his face, his full lips, perfect as a bow. His thick dark curls fall across his eyes, deep, brown, foot-long-lashes eyes.” (AGATB, 13)
At other points in the book he is also described as looking like a Roman Sculpture….Um, wait, am I writing about Twilight now? No, but really, he is described that way.
-The sexual tension between the two is also very hot. If you like that kind of thing. And I do. Example:
“It’s only his thumb brushing slowly across the lower edge of my lip, but it’s as if time slow and the sweep of that thumb below my mouth takes forever. […] I can scarcely breathe. He pulls his hand away fast, aware of what he’s done. But his touch lingers.” (AGATB, 398)

Finally, true love wins for me. The fact that Kartik really does love Gemma makes him extra hot in my eyes. The above points may add to the immediate intrigue and hotness level of the Kartik/Gemma relationship but when it comes down to it the fact that he really is in love with Gemma, even more than she knows at first, does it for me.

Basically, in between all of this serious stuff, the sexual tension is hot and some of their kissing sessions are definitely fiery and often swoon-worthy. With Kartik, the passion is there and so is the love.

So then, bangin’ hot or no? Let’s discuss. And please add your thoughts on Kartik if you’ve read the series.

XO,
Katie

Lovely Bones - Spoilers Yo.

Hi all! Melissa here. And now that I'm finished my semester the book reading extravaganza is ON! First book that was on my list. Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.

This book was AMAZING. Like cry your eyes out amazing. Its a rather tragic book. But the person I want to talk about is Susie Salmon's father. So the premise of the story. Susie Salmon is murdered. And is in the inbetween and able to watch the lives of the people she left behind.

The banging hot boy in this is actually a banging hot DAD.
Jack Salmon.
For me, it is his devotion that I find most inspiring. His daughter is murdered. Such an unspeakable event. And all they find of her is one elbow. And a lot of blood in the dirt of a corn field. But he never gives up on his family. Or on finding her killer.
He is devoted to his family. And instead of pulling away from his remaining children and into himself (like his wife does), he doesnt forget that the living need attention too. He searches for clues to his daughters murder. And he tries to not lose his two living children. He has an absolute adoration of his children. He never forgot about them - living or dead. And he didnt selfishly leave them alone, even though he was hurting and that might have been easiest. He knew that they needed him. And he needed them, even though they reminded him everyday of what he had lost. What they had lost. Their pain wasnt something that would be easily forgotten. And separating himself from them wouldnt help him to forget the loss of his beloved daughter. He learned that a loss like that, a young daughter brutally taken away, isnt something you forget. But if you allow it you can let it become a piece of who you are, and learn to continue living.
Susie knows she's dead. But nobody wants to be forgotten. And her father would never let her be forgotten. He doesnt let the grief and pain push her away. She still remains his. And years could never change that.
Another thing that makes Jack amazing is his capacity for forgiveness. His wife leaves him and his children. But he doesnt hold it against her. In fact he continues to love her despite the distance that is between them. He is able to see the situation from her point of view. She had dreams, she had hopes and being a mother wasnt one of them. She loved her children but they took away some of her dreams. They changed her life, as children do. But after Susie's murder, Abigail (Susie's mother) needs to forget. She needs to be alone just to be able to breath. It may have not been the right choice, leaving her family, but Jack is understanding that it was something she needed to do. He doesnt assume that her leaving means she loves her family less. It just is how she chose to deal with the situation. And when she returns, he welcomes her with open arms.
Jack Salmon cares. Deeply. And isnt that all anyone wants?

Please read this book. But all in all, it's a good, easy read.

Since I'm not sure who has read this, I will go easy on the spoilers... maybe it will result in further discussion in the near future :)

My Bangin' Hot Book Boy pick from this series is definitely Eric. Eric-hot-sexy-tall-handsome-stone cold fox-Viking man- Northman. Yes, he's a little rough around the edges and yes he has experienced quite a lot in his life and yes he sometimes refers to Sookie as "Lover" (which I secretly love), but he still rocks.

One of my favorite quotes ever from Eric was when he said, "You are speaking of my future lover. Be more respectful." He is protective over Sookie, and I love that. It's not in a super possessive/I rule your life kind of way, but one that says, 'hey, I really care about you and I want to let everyone know about it.' That makes me swoon.

I also love that Sookie describes Eric as “ handsome, in fact, radiant; blond and blue-eyed, tall and broad shouldered. He was wearing boots, jeans, and a vest. Period. Kind of like the guys on the cover of romance books.” This makes me think of some big hunk of man, that is amazingly nice to look at.

While Sookie and Eric's relationship seems mostly physical, there is also a bond that ties them together that goes so much deeper. It's when Sookie is with Eric that she can really relax and be herself. She doesn't have to pretend or hide or feelings, she feels at ease letting Eric in. And to me, that is bangin' hot worthy... a man that you can be 100% you with and not have to worry about what he might say or think about you. A man that when you are with him, you can forget everything else that is wrong in the world. A man that makes you feel both physically and emotionally safe.

That my friends is why Eric Northman is bangin' hot. So let's discuss Eric. What do you think?

-Lauren

Required Reading

Hello All!

I'm Ashton and I'm so excited to be posting here....however, I will not be posting about any bangin' hot boys, instead I will be giving you your 'homework' for Christmas break. On my blog, it seems I never run out of ideas or things to say, but with such a large crowd,
Oh my.

I guess there's no better way to start this out than with an introduction.

Hi, I'm Allison, and I'm addicted to reading about attractive fictional characters (preferably the male ones). My first book crush came in the form of Dickon, from The Secret Garden. And that was just the beginning...

As you can probably tell right now from the title, I'm not here to share a boy with you- rather, some buttons. The amazing Amy and I each made one, and decided it would be fun to post them so you could grab 'em and use them on your blogs!

Without further ado, I present to you the first batch of BHBBC buttons, fresh out of the oven!

<a href="http://banginhotbookboys.blogspot.com/"target="_blank" title=" ">
<img src="http://i655.photobucket.com/albums/uu275/backyardteacups/club-1.jpg"
alt="Alternative Name" /></a>

♥ Allison

The Host- Jared Howe-slight bangin' hot spoilers

This face was a hard rectangle, the shape of the bones strong under the skin. In color it was a light golden brown. The hair was just a few shades darker than the skin, except where flaxen streaks lightened it, ...... There were small lines around the eyes and her memories told me the lines were from smiling and squinting into sunlight.

. . I don't even get two steps before rough, hard hands grab my shoulders and wrench me back against his body.
. . I throw my elbow into his gut-- and this really hurts. His stomach muscles are as iron hard as the hand..... He doesn't even suck in a breath at my blow.
. . His hands grab my face from both sides, and before I can pull free, his lips come down hard on mine.
. . He kisses me again, and this time I feel it. His lips are softer than his hands, and hot, even in the warm desert night. A flock of butterflies riots in my stomach and steals my breath.

My skin burns where it meets his. It feels better than good, but it sets off a strange aching in my chest.

. . He squeezes my hand, and my heart punches against my ribs. It's just like pain, this pleasure.

Melanie and Jared::
"If I got to pick anyone, anyone at all, to be stranded on a deserted planet with, it would be you," I whisper. The sun between us burns hotter. "I always want to be with you. And not just...not just to talk to. When you touch me..." I dare to let my fingers brush lightly along the warm skin of his arm, and it feels like the flames are flowing from their tips now. His arm tightens around me. Does he feel the fire? "I don't want you to stop." I want to be more exact, but I can't find the words. That's fine. It's bad enough having admitted this much. "If you don't feel the same way, I understand. Maybe it isn't the same for you. That's okay. I don't know what I'm doing, but it doesn't seem to matter. His hands are in my hair, and my heart is about to combust. I can't breathe. I don't want to breathe.

That's all you get... now breath.... and if you haven't read The Host, go and read it now!

Stephenie Meyer is an amazing writer! I know most of you agree on this already, you read the Twilight Saga and likely you have read The Host. In this post I thought I would put in a few of the beginning excerpts so you could feel and see Jared through Melanie's eyes.

You also see who I believe should play Jared Howe in the event a movie is made. In the beginning of the book Jared is 26 and I think toward the end he is closer to 30. I know Gerard Butler could pass as a 30 year old that has been weathered by the desert sands and sun and the stress of hard life in this changed world. A man that is resourceful, rugged, muscular, and despite the desolation... still has a funny side and manners. **swoon** {manners are bangin' hot!}

Through out the book you see him through Melanie's eyes from before she became a host but you also see him through the Wanderer's eyes as a soul. Wanderer is not someone Jared likes but he protects her and her host. It is his bravery, kindness, fairness, fierce love and his desire to save Melanie that allows us readers to see how bangin' hot he is.

Go on, go get yourself some Gerard..Ahem, I mean Jared. *wink*

{oh, you should know, there is another BHBB in this book but that is for another day, I wanted to stick to just the one today}

ADDENDUM (12-09-09): I posted a short list of my favorite bangin' hot book boys over at my blog. In the end, I'm posting it anyway. Michael Hosea definitely qualifies as a bangin' hot book boy.. er.. man.

This book is my favorite for so many reasons, and Michael is #1 on that list. What can possibly be more of a turn on than someone as religious, loving, forgiving... and manly?

Now, I'm trying to condense this almost 500 page story into much less, so bear with me. I'll get to the reasons for his bangin' hotness.

Major Spoilers!

Michael goes into town one day to sell his goods to an old friend Joseph.. not expecting to come across the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. Definitely not expecting for God to tell him this is the woman he's to marry. Joseph and Michael begin to talk a little about this woman, Angel, when Joseph tells Michael she's a prostitute and works at a brothel.

Discouraged, but still heeding God's word, Michael spends all the gold he just made, to see Angel. But he doesn't go see her to.. 'get in her dress'. He wants to talk with her. He proposes all his ideas, and spends several nights visiting her. But Angel won't budge. She's fallen for the tricks of men before and is determined not to let it happen again.

After leaving, Michael feels God is calling him back to Pair-A-Dice to get Angel. He goes back, and Angel has been beaten horribly by a man named Magowan. Michael then asks Angel to marry him, puts his mother's ring on her finger, and they return to his cabin in the woods.

It takes some time for Angel to heal, but when she does, she's only thinking about going back to Pair-A-Dice. She tries once, but doesn't make it more than a mile without getting lost. Michael goes to find her, brings her back. He's angry, but forgives.

Then, Michael's brother comes back. Paul hates Angel.. so doesn't object when she asks to hitch a ride back to town. But he makes her pay, and he makes her pay the only way she knows how. With herself. Back in Pair-A-Dice she finds there is not much left. She goes back into prostitution, but it's not long before Michael comes back to get her. Furious, but forgiving. He figures out on his own, what happened between her and his brother.

Michael continues to do nothing but love her. That doesn't stop Angel from running again.

She doesn't go back into prostitution this time, but Michael still comes to get her. He still forgives her. He still loves her.

That doesn't stop Angel from running again. This time, Michael doesn't go get her. Angel runs into a lot of troubles in San Francisco, but ultimately finds a calling in life. After quite some time, Paul figures out that the only way to make Michael happy again, is to go find Angel himself. He still hates her, still thinks she's good for nothing, but goes anyway. He then finds out he's been wrong about her, always, and asks her to come back. She does.

And Michael forgives her again. And still loves her with everything he's got.

End.

Can you see why Michael is such a bangin' hot man?

1. Religious. He listens to and obeys God. Even when he doesn't want to.

2. Forgives. How many men would forgive their wife for sleeping with their brother? And other men they don't know? For running away countless times? But he does.. over and over. Because God tells him to.

3. Romantic. He sits with Angel and talks to her about everything he can give her. He tells her how much he loves her, and how she is deserving of love. He does everything he can to make her believe that not matter what happened in her past, she is deserving of his love. She is deserving of God's love.

4. Manly! He didn't sweet talk his way into getting Angel back when she runs away the second time. He kicks some butt. He spends his days doing manly things like farming, and stuff. It's pretty hot to me, that this man can be so sensitive, but you can always know he'd be able to protect you.

5. Lastly, heart. He has heart. He has love. He has love enough to forgive everyone who has wronged him, and not think twice about it. He has no problem sharing his home with strangers, sharing his food. Sharing his land.

This man is just amazing to me. When I read the book for the first time, all I could think was.. "Does this kind of man even EXIST?!" He's just that perfect to me. Imagine having a man so in love with you.. that he'd do absolutely anything for you. Sleep in a chair for weeks so you can have the bed to yourself. Constantly come to your aid. Be a rock, someone you can depend on. Always be whispering encouragement in your ears.

Swoon.

-Kellie

Harry Potter - Fred&George

so....hi. i'm a little nervous! i was at work today, battling a headache, and thinking about which bangin' hot boy i should write about first.

i went through several in my mind [i plan to do lots of reading over christmas break] and then it hit me: i could write about not only one boy, but two! all within the same post.

if you haven't read Harry Potter, please do yourself a favor, and haul yourself to a bookstore or library and do so. once you've made it through all seven books, feel free to return and join the party!

spoilers ahead!

now, there are a lot of swoon worthy boys in harry potter. i swoon over more than just these 2. but for this post, fred and george are where it's at.

let's look at why i find these two worthy of bangin' book boy status:

they make me laugh

they're intelligent

they're all for the their family

they test limits

financially stable [at least in book 6]

they break rules

laughter is the best medicine: i used to work at a grocery store. a nice, older man worked in the produce section, and we chatted most days when i moved to floral. he told me "marry a man who makes you laugh. if you can't laugh, you won't be happy." that might be some of the best advice i've ever been given. Fred&George [also, they're pretty much the same entity in my mind-their personalities are so much alike] make me smile and laugh out loud every time they're on the page. most of the time, just thinking about them makes me laugh!

smarts: if you don't think the twins are intelligent, you're missing something [in my humble opinion, of course]. i mean, hi! they started a booming business in the darkest of times for the wizarding world. just because they got sick of dolores and left hogwarts does not mean they lack intelligence! could you invent a skiving snackbox? i know i couldn't!

the family: just like every family, the weasley family has their own share of issues: there was the whole thing with percy, and that time arthur almost died in the ministry - the list could go on. the point is, the twins are more than willing to fight for their family. they're there for molly when percy is a brat. and just like the rest of their family, they accept harry without question. family ties ALL the weasleys together-i think it's the hair, personally. the battle for hogwarts in the deathly hallows? briliant. if you've read it, you know what i'm talking about!

pushing limits: the twins never stop trying to see how much they can get away with. they challenge umbridge, filch; even hermione! come on...when her and ron are prefects? and she tells them off for testing products on first years? if i was them, i would have been scared of hermione. but no. they do what [they feel] is necessary for them. and how much guts does it require to pull off that radio broadcast in book 7?! not to mention finding every passage out of hogwarts - that's pure talent. life would never be boring with one of them, that's for sure!

finances: unfortunately, money makes the world go 'round, and the wizarding world is no exception. i'm not saying money is the most important thing - far from it! but we all know we like to be stable. their family never had much, but the twins made do with what they had [and were happy!], until they found the resources to start Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes (and buy ron new dress robes!) and become extremely successful. it takes talent to start a lucrative business during the times of voldemort's return!

what rules?: now, i don't know about you, but i think boys [in books!] that break rules are pretty much the stuff. who gave harry the marauder's map? who had the biggest file in filch's cabinet? who pissed off umbridge to no end? who lost an ear? who died?! [that was a major spoiler. highlight at your own risk!] and yeah, that last part that was highlighted? it pretty much slayed me. i was a sad cookie when i read that.

plus, these guys are beaters to be jealous of, aren't scared to make bets with ministry officials, and tried to get past dumbledore's age line to enter the triwizard tournament.

i just can't really put into words how much i love the weasley twins; not to mention if you could actually end up with one, you would have the best.extended.family.ever.

am i way off base?

or right on track? However, she told me to post it asap so here it is! Just make sure to go to her post below this and leave your suggestions for the official "Bangin' Hot Book Boys Club" reading list. Thanks!

Attention: This post is full of spoilers. Like probably so ‘spoilery’ that if you have yet to read ‘The Hunger Games’ or ‘Catching Fire’ you may want to avert your eyes! Then as soon as your eyes are properly averted run to your nearest bookstore and buy the books! They are amazing…end of story!

Since Lauren decided to write about Gale in her last post I figured why not just throw Peeta up in the next one! Plus, I am so fiercely Team Peeta I cannot even begin to explain. Okay, I will explain a little. Ever since I finished ‘Hunger Games’ I have not been able to look at bread in the same way…or bakeries…or even bakers! I had a roll with my Thanksgiving dinner and instead of grubbing down on it…I may or may not have gently caressed it while crooning ‘Peeta, I love you’. You think I am kidding? Nope.

So, I know one of the rules is to not bring up other characters unless it is in context…I hope this is in context. When it comes to Peeta and Gale a girl just has to choose a side. Why? Because it is what we do. We Team everything! So in ‘The Hunger Games’ series it is all about whether or not you are ‘Team Gale’ or ‘Team Peeta’…because obviously whichever side you pick, you are rooting for him to succeed and eventually get the girl, Katniss. Peeta needs to get the girl. Peeta deserves to get the girl (however I am not so sure the girl deserves him). Please, Suzanne Collins let Peeta get the girl!

Peeta is amazing. He is the kind of guy that every single woman should want…and probably does want. He is witty, sensitive, charisma oozes from his pores, he is loyal, and is completely devoted to Katniss. He is also willing to do anything in order to ensure Katniss’ survival even if it literally ends in his death, or him getting beat when he intentionally burns his parents bread just so he can toss the loaves to Katniss. He does this even though he doesn’t actually know her…he just knows that she was about to starve to death. He does it because even as an eleven year old kid, he could not stand losing her. I mean c’mon does it get more romantic than that? I think not!

There is a moment in ‘Catching Fire’ where Katniss realizes that she is Gales and that Gale is hers. To me that statement was meant in an ‘as friends’ kind of way. Because even after making such a statement she still wants PEETA to be the one to climb into bed with her and hold her to help keep her nightmares away. Even though Peeta knows that Katniss may not want to be with him he still obliges her and makes her feel safe, and he still makes her bread (hello, I love bread).

Peeta has done some amazing things in these books to show what a catch he is…and what a good person he is. In ‘Catching Fire’ when one of the female competitors, who loves art, is about to die he sits down and takes her hand and talks to her about his art, his baking, and all of the beautiful colors he uses. He calms her down and helps her be able to pass in peace, he makes sure her last moments on Earth are not moments spent afraid. He saved Katniss when he gave her those loaves of bread. He also promised some of his prize money to the families of some of his fellow Hunger Games competitors who did not make it out alive. Once again, he makes an offer that he KNOWS is not going to have a positive impact on his life…but it will hopefully improve someone else’s. Can we say swoon? Swoon…

My favorite scene in the series (also the scene that set in stone that I was on Peeta’s side) is when Peeta pulls out the locket (c’mon ladies you know what I am talking about) and he says to Katniss:

“I don’t want you forgetting how different our circumstances are. If you die, and I live, there’s no life for me at all back at District Twelve. You’re my whole life, I would never be happy again. It’s different for you. I’m not saying it wouldn’t be hard. But there are other people who’d make your life worth living. No one really needs me.”

Peeta is selfless, and that definitely makes him a ‘Bangin’ Hot Book Boy’ in my humble opinion!

Alright ladies...what do YOU think about Peeta? Is he a Bangin' Hot Book Boy?
xoxo-
Alexandria

Help!

Hello all, Ashton here. Read them now, you won't regret it.

Ok, let me start this off by stating, I am Team Peeta all the way. But that is all I'm going to say about him :)

I thought it would be good to discuss Gale. Mostly because I had my own Gale, I'm sure many of you did to. Srsly, what's not to love. He is tall dark and handsome for starters. He is strong, hard working, caring, and provides for his family. He is compassionate, this is clear when he refuses to let his younger siblings sign up for tessarae. And he has skills... mad bow hunting skills, snaring skills and tree climbing skills. In the words of Napolean Dynatmite "Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills."

To sum it all up, Gale is a catch.

Had Katniss never experienced other love, Gale would work for her. I hate to say it would be like settling, because he is a terrific guy, but there isn't that deep down in your soul, amazing passion. Yes they kissed once, but it wasn't one of those can't get enough/keep coming back for more Peeta kisses (I know, I said I wouldn't mention him, my bad). He is the bestfriend that we see so many times in books or movies or even in real life, that is wonderful and would totally work...but there isn't the truly madly deeply in love that we all want. And when I say we all, I totally mean me, but that's ok.

I totes had a Gale. My bestfriend. I loved him and honestly could have been with him, but in the end, it was only the bestfriend kind of love. And I know, it's important in a relationship to have a partner that is your bestfriend, but that isn't the only hat they have to wear.

Would Katniss be happy with Gale? I think so. Would it be anything in relation to what she could have with someone I promised not to mention anymore? Doubt it.

So what do you think about Gale? Would he be good for Katniss? Do you think he is Bangin' Hot? Let's discuss.

-Lauren

the rules

i am so glad we have so many girls interested in discussing all things "banginhotbookboys". srsly...best.news.ever. before we get started on talking about specific characters, and assigning books to read, i think it is very important that we lay out the rules. these are just some rules i came up with after a few days thought..

1. stick to the topic at hand.

if we are asked to discuss Peeta Mellark, discuss Peeta...don't bring in Gale, or Edward or anyone else, unless it emphasizes your point about Peeta. For example:

Good: "I feel like Peeta is a very strong character. He might not have the physical strength that Edward has, he has other qualities that...etc."

Not Good: "I don't know anything about Peeta, but I really love Edward. He is my favorite!"

Understand?

2. if you see that someone has posted that day, don't post.

let's use common courtesy. if amy posts something tomorrow, and amanda wanted to post...please schedule your post for the next day. let's make sure everyone has proper time for their post to be read and discussed :)

3. let's keep things clean.

yes, jace wayland is smokin' hot. and the "leg hitch" with edward and bella is...hot. but let's keep things relatively clean. meaning...don't go into a lot of detail. if your comment is deemed too inappropriate for younger eyes, i might have to delete it. just follow gut instincts...if you wouldn't feel ok with your 13 year old sister reading it, then maybe step back and think about it before posting :)

4. be nice.

if you don't agree with someone's ideas of a character, be nice about it. of course you can state your opinion, but be kind. for instance, i don't really like jacob black...but i don't have a problem with anyone else liking him. he is a cool guy...i get that. he just isn't my cup of tea. so when you discuss, make sure we all remain friends at the end :)

5. if you post a spoiler, warn people.

a lot of us haven't read the same books, but are working on it. if you want to post a spoiler in the comment box, or in a post, please indicate *spoiler* before you type it out. that will be greatly appreciated!

who is excited?!
I am serious. I think it could seriously improve the quality of my life.

Kidding!

Our first order of business is to all introduce ourselves, and to confess to the first time you fell for a bangin' hot book boy.

I, am Lauren...and I am addicted to reading about hot fictional characters.
